Our Vision:

We are a father / daughter photography team that is dedicated to crafting distinctive portraits. We bring different styles to our work, yet are untied in our passion for creating a portrait that captures the true essence of the client... creating an heirloom image that will be cherished for generations.

We love photography and have a healthy respect for the history that we create in each image. Our understanding of this heritage obligation drives us to produce images that will stand the test of time. To create an image that is valued today and invaluable in the future.

While our styles differ, we share a passion for excellence. There is no compromise in a Rawls portrait.

Stephen Rawls

Photography has been a passion of mine for years. I have had the good fortune to work with wonderful mentors, such as the great Art Ketchum in learning to perfect my craft. Now I'm blessed to share my love of photography with my daughter, Ashley.

There is sometime special to me about creating a really outstanding image. It has to do with watching the client's eyes light up upon viewing the image for the first time. It has to do with a feeling that you've added to the quality of a person's life. That you've captured in a moment a bit of the client's personality, a bit of their soul.

And that, I think, is the difference between a portrait and a snapshot.

Ashley Rawls

For me photography is simple. Unique, Raw (it is part of my last name after all) ... strength, beauty. I love working on a concept and turning it into reality. I love capturing the secrets of my subject. Photography is a journey into the exploration of the spirit as much as it is a journey into the exploration of the physical.

I want to thank my dad, Stephen Rawls, for being the best mentor, Art Ketchum for being my best critic, Emily Rawls for being my play- doh, and every piece of artwork that has ever made me feel more alive.
